Coinbase/GDAX
Coinbase is the biggest of all the exchanges for buying bitcoin, ethereum, litecoin, and bitcoin cash using USD. Create an account on Coinbase and then use their GDAX trading platform to buy and sell these 4 cryptos for a low fee with a limit order. Use my referral link below and we both get $10 in bitcoin when you purchase $100 or more in cryptocurrency.

Binance has a lot more currencies to trade (but you need BTC or ETH to trade). Binance is currently is only open to limited new user registration per day; you need to keep checking the registration link each day to see if they are accepting new users. I've had luck clicking on the new user registration link in evening after 6pm PST.
